rebellionBorn in France in the late 70s as a son of westafrican immigrants young Rebellion The Recaller settled back to Gambia at the age of 11, linking up with his familiar and spiritual roots.Reggae Music had always been a part of his life as his mother loved to listen to the likes of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff. In Gambia he was surrounded by the good vibes of african and carribean roots music, which in west africa during the late 80s and early 90s mainly spread through audiocassettes and local radiostations. Under the influence of young uprising jamaican singers like Buju Banton he soon started to write his own lyrics and compose his own music.
With the support of his friends The Recaller joined the stage with westafrican artists like Dancehall Masters, The Royal Family, Inspired Youths, One Strike Bullet, Seasonal Footy, The Mediator, Phylantrophy, Abraham Colongy and Zeeman.
The Recaller won the hearts of his audiences taking concern of their everyday struggles. His lyrical originality and authenticity soon caught the attention of other artists. Like the northamerican group Suns Of Light (former members of: The Boys, The Bishops), for who he recorded his first release tracks. One of these tracks is the powerful chant "One For One" which put him on high demand amongst the gambian people and brought him continuous airplay on gambian radio in '97/'98. "Departing From These Days", his debutalbum, was released on audiocassette in westafrica in 1999. It was followed by his remarkable combination with the Suns Of Light called "We Must Rebel", which is recently taking audiences all over europe in a storm, since being released on 7inch-vinyl on his own label Inspired Ones in collaboration with Roots Messenger Music from Hamburg/Germany. Since the middle of 2003 The Recaller is constantly touring germany and the whole of europe. He played dozens of liveshows with soundsystems and selectas like Puppa Ams, Roots Commandment and More Fire Sound, spreading his message of love, freedom and spirituality to the opressed people of the northern hemisphere and his african brothers and sisters who emmigrated from their motherland.

Meanwhile he is working on a whole heap of new releasetunes with producers like Roots Messenger, Ire Hi-Fi , Beatschmieda, Silly Walks a.o. He is stepping up in combinations with artists like Spectacular from Jamaica and Karl Emanuel from Ghana, seeking to put a full new album together and to set up an allafrican tour for the near future.

The Recaller speaks:" Music is the means of spreading everything credential to creation, it is something heartical, worldly, terrestial! It represents the reality of things that are not seen." "What makes music good or bad is the motive or the reason behind it. The weak heart of man makes popular music of nowadays rather disadvantegeous!"
